John Barefoot has been invited to give a one-hour presentation on *revenue
catalogues* on 17 June during the Crawford Festival, the annual two-day
philatelic literature festival organised by the Royal Philatelic Society,
London.
John will discuss the process of creating revenue stamp catalogues,
including definition of revenue stamps, keeping a database, ways to order a
listing, how to present illustrations and technical data, pricing, layout
and book production.
Since the birth of the Revenue Society in 1990, one-country revenue
catalogues have thankfully mushroomed, but they are written by many authors
with many different styles.
Is there an ideal ‘Platonic’ standard that we should aim for?
This is a chance to meet John, learn about future plans for the Barefoot
catalogues, and discuss catalogue ideas and future trends.
The event takes place at the RPSL premises in Abchurch Lane, London. Please
visit rpsl.ork.uk for information on registering.
